Promptwatch review 2026: pricing, features, and who it's for
A plain review of Promptwatch: what each brand and agency plan includes, which features sit on which tier, the real limitations, and which buyer should pick which plan.
Quick verdict
Promptwatch is the AI visibility platform we rank first, because it covers the whole chain: prompts, citations, AI crawler logs, AI-referred conversions, and content that ships to your CMS. The catch is that the best parts are tiered. On brand plans, crawler logs start on Professional and the automated Content Agent starts on Business. Know which layer you need before you pick a plan.
What Promptwatch is
Promptwatch is an AI search visibility and GEO platform from Promptwatch B.V. in Amsterdam, founded in April 2025 by Gijs de Groot and Klaas Foppen. It raised a €1.2M pre-seed in September 2025 and a €6M seed in July 2026. It is rated 4.7/5 on G2, and more than 1,840 brands and agencies use it, including Duolingo, Yelp, Typeform, and Rabobank.
The pitch is easy to state. Most competitors are prompt trackers: they tell you whether your brand was mentioned. Promptwatch also tries to tell you why, where the model found you, what traffic it sent, and what to publish next.
Features, layer by layer
Prompt tracking and trends
Prompts carry search volumes, difficulty scores, and query fan-outs, and you can group them by topic, tag, and persona. On paid plans it monitors real interfaces (not just APIs) across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, and Copilot, plus Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. Every paid plan runs all of those models. Prompt trends show how visibility moved and what changed between checks, which saves you comparing two snapshots by hand.
Citation analytics
Citations break down by page, by domain, and by source type, with separate views for Reddit, YouTube, and offsite mentions. Citation trends show whether a source is gaining or losing ground over time. This is where you find out that a competitor's comparison page or a Reddit thread is the thing actually being quoted.
Agent Analytics (AI crawler logs)
Agent Analytics records real-time visits from ChatGPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, GoogleOther, and Meta's AI crawler, maps the crawl-to-citation path, and tracks errors. Logs come in from Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly, Vercel, Netlify, Akamai, Google Cloud CDN, or a custom HTTP source. Promptwatch shipped this before the rest of the category. Per the founders, most competitors added comparable crawler-log features roughly a year later.
Visitor analytics
A lightweight script or a GTM template tracks AI-referred visitors and their conversions. This is the column that turns "our share of voice dropped" into "we lost signups," or doesn't.
Content Agents
Content Agents plan, write, and publish GEO content to Webflow, Framer, or WordPress, with a review inbox and content gap analysis. WordPress runs through an official plugin with a sync token. One Framer quirk to know: there is no per-item publish, so going live redeploys the whole Framer site.
The rest
Agent Chat is a conversational analyst over your live data. Unified Actions turns it into a to-do list. There's sentiment, share of voice, and competitor benchmarking. ChatGPT Shopping tracking and Ads Radar cover commerce. Ads Radar captures sponsored ads in ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews, and AI Mode answers to your tracked prompts, including the advertiser, target URL, and triggering prompt. It does not cover Perplexity and does not report on your own OpenAI campaigns. Integrations include Google Search Console, Looker Studio, Slack, an MCP server, and REST API v2.
Pricing for brands
Prices are monthly in USD. Annual billing gives 12 months for the price of 10, and EUR pricing is available.
| Plan | Price | Projects | Prompts | Responses | Crawler logs | Also included |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Explore | Free | 1 | 10 (ChatGPT only) | Not listed | Not listed | 1 seat |
| Essential | $95/mo, 7-day trial | 1 | 50 | 6,000 | Not listed | 200K visitor events, 500 Agent Credits, site audit, content gap analysis, 1 seat |
| Professional | $245/mo, 7-day trial | 2 | 150 | 18,000 | 25M | 1M visitor events, 5 AEO articles, 1,500 Agent Credits, 2 seats |

Country-level tracking is on every paid plan. Professional is country-level only.
Pricing for agencies
All self-serve agency plans include unlimited projects and prompts, 10 seats, state and city tracking, Ads Radar, unlimited pitch projects, custom reports, and the Looker Studio connector.
| Plan | Price | Responses | Visitor events | Crawler logs | Agent Credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kick-off | $199/mo, 7-day trial | 10,000 | 500K | 10M | 1,000 |
| Growth | $399/mo, 7-day trial | 25,000 | 2M | 25M | 2,500 |
| Scale | $799/mo | 65,000 | 15M | 100M | 6,500 |
Scale adds audit logs. Promptwatch also lists a white-label workspace, client portal, and white-label PDF exports for agencies, without naming the plan they belong to, so ask before you assume. Enterprise pricing is custom and adds SSO, audit logs, and a dedicated success manager.
Limitations
The free plan is a demo, not a tracker. Ten prompts on ChatGPT alone won't tell you much about Gemini or Perplexity, so a real evaluation means the Essential trial.
Essential's published limits don't include crawler logs. If Agent Analytics is the reason you're looking, budget for Professional at $245/mo.
The automated Content Agent is a Business feature ($579/mo). Professional includes 5 AEO articles a month, which is useful but not the scheduled pipeline.
Agency plans don't include the automated Content Agent or AEO articles at all. They do include Agent Chat, content gap analysis, site audit, crawler logs, and visitor analytics. Agencies that want hands-off publishing for clients need Business or Enterprise terms.
Self-serve agency plans top out at 65,000 responses on Scale. Bigger agencies go to Enterprise.
Framer publishing redeploys the whole site each time, which matters if other people ship to that Framer project too.
There's more to learn than with a single-purpose tracker. The payoff is fewer tools to stitch together later.
Who should pick which plan
- A founder or solo marketer checking whether AI visibility is worth a budget line: Explore first, then the Essential trial.
- A brand team that needs to tie AI answers to revenue: Essential gets you visitor analytics; Professional adds the crawler logs that explain drops.
- A content team that wants the platform to draft and publish against gaps: Business, for the automated Content Agent.
- A multi-region or local brand: Business, since Professional is country-level only.
- An agency with a handful of clients: Kick-off or Growth. Plan on writing content yourselves, because agency tiers lack the Content Agent.
If you want to see how it stacks up against AthenaHQ, Scrunch AI, and the rest, the full ranking has them side by side.
